The goal of this program is to preserve the agricultural character of Marin and its harmonic relationship to West Marin’s landscape.  West Marin includes an established agricultural community whose pride and hard work has kept Marin a beautiful, productive, viable and culturally rich place.

Our desire is to capture this knowledge and transfer it to a new generation of ranchers and residents who may endeavor to continue these traditions in their own ways.  The Oral History Program proposes to do this by conducting 10 oral histories, photographing 36 historical buildings and producing a video documenting historic ranching technology.

The following books are available: Dolcini, McDonald, Grossi, Corda and Mendoza. If you would like to order the books, click on the images below to order at Lulu.com.
