At this time, the Richard L. Plant – Marin RCD Scholarship program is on hold and not taking applications in 2024.<\/p>\n
The Scholarship Fund’s History and Purpose<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n The Scholarship Fund was originally established by the late Richard Plant of Inverness.\u00a0 Richard was a long-time Director of the Marin RCD and contributed greatly during his time on the Board.<\/span><\/p>\n Scholarships are available to students, interns or trainees who wish to cover education or training costs including but not limited to transportation, housing, education, materials, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n The purpose of the Fund is to support Marin RCD’s mission and activities of protecting and enhancing natural and agricultural resources in Marin County, including selected areas outside of the Marin RCD boundaries.\u00a0 It is the wish of the Donor that grants be made to support internship programs of the Marin RCD – to assist and support young interns who wish to learn on-the job-skills by covering their costs such as transportation, housing, education, etc., and to help the Marin RCD to cover its costs of recruiting, training, and management of the internship program.<\/span><\/p>\n While the Marin RCD may accept applications from all young candidates that may be interested, it is the desire of the Donor that due consideration will be given to attracting internship candidates who are disadvantaged by reason of economics, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, including young persons who currently live on or work on ranches or farms. The Marin RCD is encouraged to work with all schools, junior colleges and universities in attracting qualified candidates.\u00a0 It is the Donor’s wish that grants by the Fund be used to augment and supplement funds available from other sources for such activities, and not to replace those funds or funding sources.”<\/span><\/p>\n Recipients of the Richard L.
