Fiona O'Neill

Fiona serves as the Soil Conservation Specialist on the Marin RCD's Agriculture (Ag) Team. In her role, Fiona works under the Carbon Farming Program to conduct soil sampling and analysis, support producers through implementation of projects, and conduct whole-farm stewardship planning. From field to range and pasture, she supports producer decision-making by connecting soil health test results to management goals. Prior to joining the RCD, Fiona spent time observing soils across California, enduring rain and mosquitoes to study soils in Alaska, and investigating sediment delivery from rangeland gullies. In her spare time, you might find her scrutinizing roadcuts, diving into a science podcast, trying a new sweet or savory recipe, or taking up a new craft. Fiona holds a B.S. in Environmental Management and Protection with a minor in Environmental Soil Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
